Look out Whanganui, the strange love children of Noel Coward and Flight of the Conchords have set up a temporary home at The Whanganui Musician's Club and invite you to join them to hear some of your favourite old tunes from the early 20th century performed with a cheeky modern twist on the 8th December for an evening “At Home with Leo, Clever & Constance”.
“At Home” will be an adults only evening of hilarious musical mash-ups, where popular songs from the past will be given an irreverent makeover, alongside a few racy ukulele originals, and a quick fire audience-led improv round that often leads to hilariously inappropriate results.
Taking to the “At Home” stage will be a trio of Wellington based musicians who have over a century of performance experience between them and who are looking forward to debuting their twisted tunes in Whanganui. Adopting the on-stage personas of identical cousins, this mis-shapen musical family are bonded together by a love of wicked word play, double entendres, and lyrical acrobatics that have had past audiences in stitches!
Leo Lennox, Clever Hansel and Constance Craving have performed together and apart in successful shows at home and abroad, including Napier’s Art Deco Festival, and judging by previous audiences feedback, this is one show you won’t want to miss!
“The best night, haven’t laughed so much in years.” E Pemberton
“Great show! Lots of laughs.” A Hardman
"How could they do that to such a beautiful song?" H Thornycroft
Audiences are warned that in the pursuit of a laugh, some of the lyrics may not be suitable for the young or timid but may give the adventurous some ideas!
